Our last day in Etosha ended somewhere before lunchtime with a drive through the Etosha Pan, seeing some animals like rhinos and leaving through the south gate towards Grootfontein.

A hyena passed in front of our car. It looked so calm, I was very close to get off the car. At the end we have seen several of them, but all one by one.

Early morning wake-up again to enter Etosha area quite soon and be there as long as all the wild animals are on their good morning tour…

So let’s start with our drive to Outjo – the Gate to Etosha. First stop was very close, the so called petrified forest. This is a 80.000 year old forest which has been petrified over the years. Very impressive to see.

Twyfelfontein, the name of our next lodge, brought us back into the country, away from the cold seaside. It did not take very long and we have been back into a very hot part of Africa again: close to the Etosha National Park.
